As Data Mining Approaches Health Care Services

Health Care holds the most important data in the world which is the "records of the health of the people" that's why a good storage is needed for those important information that holds the life of the people. before when we inquire for the records of patients it takes us 15-30 minutes of waiting but nowadays in just a blink of an eye you can get your own copy of records printed.

Data Mining has helped the Health Care Industry so well because the health care services can attend to customers faster better and more accurate. they don't need to do it manually anymore, all they need is a desktop with a database software of the hospital with the records of patients.

People of the new generation cannot imagine a hospital without a computer nowadays unlike before when the piles of records are placed in a cabinet and then it will be checked 1 by 1 just to find 1 data of a person out of thousands or even millions of records.

i got this article from Click Here which says that "The use of data mining has focused on evidence-based patterns from previous patient
treatment. In all likelihood, the absence of automated discovery of patterns would leave many questions unasked. These questions, if asked, would benefit not only the resource utilization for patient treatment, but also the health of the patient.
Data mining helps professionals discover these patterns and put them to work.
As models are based directly on history, they represent the ultimate in evidence-based care. But technology is no panacea, professional, ethical and practical issues must be addressed. Decisions must rest with the health care professionals, not the information systems experts." the article says that without Data Mining the Health care industry should have been left over by the new discoveries. Data Mining was one of the big factors that helped the health care industry to invent new kind of surgeries through data collection and research. there was a big impact in health care industry when data mining came out because it was a big help specially for professionals because they can study more and learn more from data mining.

I also got one example of Data Mining that helps health care industry it is called the Neural networks. "Often defined as a computer application that mimics the
neurophysiology of the human brain, a neural network is capable of learning from examples to find patterns in data. The neural network is first trained, which involves reading sample data and iteratively adjusting the network’s weights to produce optimum predictions. Then new data can be applied to this model to quickly generate predictions. Neural networks are reputed to produce highly accurate results and, in practical applications, can contribute to profitable decisions. this is one example that can show how great the health care industry was helped because the brain is a very sensitive part of the body because it is the "command center" of our body that's why every move that will be made in the brain must be accurate and precise and that's what the neural networks do it makes sure that the brain is capable of such operation and where to do it which will not greatly affect the patient.

The effective use of information and technology is crucial for health care organizations to stay competitive in today’s complex, evolving environment. The challenges faced when trying to make sense of large, diverse, and often complex data source are considerable. In an effort to turn information into knowledge, health care organizations are implementing data mining technologies to help control costs and improve the efficacy of patient care. Data mining can be used to help predict future patient behavior and to improve treatment programs. By identifying high-risk patients, clinicians can better manage the care of patients today so they do not become the problems of tomorrow. Health care industries can even predict the future behavior of patients which means that they are close to even predicting the sickness that might occur to patients in the future which is a big help because they can prevent it if that becomes possible.

Data Mining changed the world of health care from good to better because nowadays, the parts of the body that cannot be reached by manual gadgets can now be reached through softwares and things that are technologically inclined. If data mining continues to penetrate through the health care industry maybe soon enough they can be able to cope up and treat the illnesses that has no cure.

Data Mining with the help of technology plus the skills of the professionals in the health care industry equals a better and accurate treatment for patients that needs cure as soon as possible. Data Mining assures the patients that there is speed in gathering data of your records and the treatments that needs to be done to cure the patient.
